The Arts & Crafts Industries, Crofter Secretary is a unique piece epitomizing the period from which it originated. The secretary features all of the elements such as face glued drawer fronts and tops, quarter sawn end panels, and traditional hardware. The case has a triple touch low voltage dimmer to light the towers and the top center section. The doors are clear glass, and four leaded glass panels in the upper portions. The glass shelves allow the light to filter thru the cabinet and highlight the interiors from top to bottom. The center section folds down and has enough room to house a notebook computer or even a typewriter.(Does anyone remember typewriters?)
The three drawers use solid oak face glued drawer fronts. The drawer boxes are of solid aromatic cedar with English dove tail joints. Four elegant corbels with teardrop curves grace the sides of the case to provide simple, yet functional support to this Arts & Crafts Industries piece of furniture. The bottom front rail has a graceful arch with thru tenon style fittings as signature of the Crofter Collection.
