The Arts & Crafts Industries, Mission, 12 Drawer Mule Chest. People ask us why is it a "mule chest." It does not resemble a mule. Nevertheless, it has lots of storage space! Just as mules carry the burden of the load on the trail, a mule chest will hold the bulk of your wardrobe. The drawers are solid aromatic cedar with English dovetail joints. The top of the chest and the drawer fronts are 1" thick face glued solid oak, as is the custom in heirloom quality furniture from Arts & Crafts Industries. The drawers are on maple wood slides to provide solid and smooth action. The jewelry tray in the upper right drawer has the Arts & Crafts Industries "brand" indicating the authenticity of the piece. Our drawers are 1" to 1.5" deeper, front to back than you may be accustomed.
The bottom drawers are 10" tall from top to bottom to provide more storage. Bulky items like sweaters may be stored without crushing. A face glued, solid oak splash rail on the top keeps your belongings from falling behind the case. As a final touch, four elegant corbels with teardrop curves grace the sides of the mule chest to provide simple, yet functional support to this Arts & Crafts Industries piece of furniture.
